"After discussing with my parents before 9th grade, I decided to use art as my extra curriculum. Art has helped me stand out from my peers in college applications. My MIT interviewer told me, 'Everyone in MIT has something special. For you, art is the thing.' I am so glad that I didn't quit." - Ann L.
Testimonial from long term US Arts Center student, Jessica.
I’ve been studying art at the US Arts Center since 7th grade and it has been the pillar of my art education since. US Arts Center provided the educators and materials I needed to grow as an artist, as well as the support and guidance for building an art portfolio for college. I was able to study a wide variety of art mediums such as acrylic paint, colored pencil, charcoal, and much more. They allowed me to explore my artistic passions and experiment with my work. I learned under many amazing artists and skilled teachers who personalized my lessons so I could improve all aspects of my artistic abilities. The teachers and staff even helped me prepare a strong portfolio so I could get into a top art program in college. I am so grateful for US Arts to help me become a better artist!
US Fine Art has been a part of my journey since I was 5 and has fostered my growth as a person. US Fine Art provided me with the resources to release my creativity upon the foundation I built. Thanks to US Fine Art teachers, who truly use their talent to teach art, according to the CTA model, personalized to each student. My 11 years here has been filled with the joy and discovery of art. US fine Art has also been a place where I can let my ideas free and be guided by teachers who will help me convey them through various art media. I can truly say I'm glad to have discovered and cultivated my art skills here, and I believe there's more to come!
This art school has given me so much over the years. Every weekend, I have a peaceful sanctuary where I can focus on art. I'm so lucky to have that supportive, nurturing environment, for twelve years. Art school has been a constant for me. I remember doing my art school homework when I just started learning art. I would sketch something during the week and proudly show my teachers. They would be so encouraging, and it gave me the confidence to keep sketching every week. When I recently looked back at my old drawing, they definitely were not the masterpieces I remembered, and they definitely were not deserving of the praise my teachers gave me. But when I needed it most, my teachers encouraged me to keep drawing, keep growing. Later on, one of my other teachers challenged me to have artistic vision. He taught me how to keep an eye on both the details and the big picture. That perspective has helped me not only in art, but in other aspects of life too. I have learned so many valuable lessons from all of my teachers. Lessons in patience, diligence, and creativity. The people at this school have given me so much support, from all of my teachers to the administration to principal Zhao. I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to develop a lifelong passion. Art will always be with me, as well as my appreciation for everyone who made that possible. Thank you.
U.S. Arts is very devoted to helping students create art and continues to support them. There are plenty of materials at the students' availability in order for them to work towards their passion. The teachers are friendly and knowledgeable, and have guided me through the never-ending art process. They have also assisted me in creating a compelling college portfolio. After 10 years of attending U.S. Arts, I can say that I am grateful to have been a part of their community.
US Arts played a big role in the improvement of my portfolio. Thanks to the instructors who took time to sit down with me and discuss ways to enhance and elevate my pieces.
Not only did they help with the technical side of my pieces but also the conceptual sides. Overall, I’m very happy I got the opportunity to improve my skills and grow my portfolio at US Arts.
For most of my life, I never thought I'd do art as a career. I've been in US Fine Art for over 10 years but I always thought I'd be doing something else. However, being here for so long has made me realize that art is what I want to dedicate myself to. My teachers have inspired and encouraged me to continue on with my passion. They have helped me by teaching me almost all the technical skills I know in drawing. I honestly do not think I would be where I am now without them. Thank you for helping me get into the art colleges I never thought I would be accepted into!
When my mom first enrolled me in U.S. Fine Arts, I thought I would never be able to draw such good drawings like the older kids. But slowly with my teachers help, I began to draw good drawings. I learned to persevere and be patient as my teachers guide me through this learning experience. I feel like U.S. Fine Arts is an awesome place for young students to learn and discover new ways to use arts. I have been at U.S. Fine Arts for 4 years and I have learned a lot through my journey!
Both my daughter 9 & son 5 go there for Saturday class and summer camp. We have been with US Arts for almost two years. The teachers treat the kids very nicely and pay attention to the concerns the kids worry and communicate these effectively to the parents. My kids enjoyed it very much. Not only they learn something but also and most importantly they are enjoying doing this which I believe will last a long way.

My 3 kids have been going to US Arts Chantilly for years. They have learned so much there. US Arts is very well run and organized. They not only have a systematic curriculum that teaches children progressive but comprehensive skills, but also make learning fun and interesting. The students are placed at levels based on their skills and their progress constantly monitored and evaluated. My kids love going there and have made so much progress in their drawing skills. One of my daughters wanted to study art in college. US Arts started helping her plan for her portfolio as early as 10th grade, and advised her throughout the process. They were instrumental in helping her getting top quality portfolios ready for her senior year in high school. My daughter was accepted into one of the best college art programs in the country. We can't thank US Arts enough!

The owners Ms. Janet and her husband are very kind, patient and professional folks that we fully trust. Over many years, this is the only extra-curriculum activity that my daughter has persisted and every week looks forward to, not only because she genuinely loves drawing but most importantly being in a positive growth environment with no-pressure. I thought this is important as nowadays there is just too much pressure everywhere for kids.
Both teachers and students are of great diversity here and US Arts have comprehensive school-year curriculum along with summer and specialty camps as well as opportunities for outdoor drawings and art museum visits. All of the teachers my daughter had at US Arts are great artists themselves. There are periodic touch-points, parent-teacher conference, and portfolio review. The teachers and Janet always went great lengths explaining curriculum, elaborating things that are important and provide many reminders along the way. As parent and as far as art class goes here, I can honestly say it is a worry free. Happy to witness its growth over the years. Art enriches our life and I feel their hard work and business is doing great thing to the community.
